Ok so it's been a while, but I'm back to blogging. Life's too short not to find time for the things you love. Sartorially speaking not much has changed... The Reformation obsession is still going strong and New York's sweltering summer continues to reinforce the neccisity to wear barely there linen numbers. I'm not complaining and thanks to Reformation the earth isn't either.
World news wise on the other hand, a lot has changed, and with it the urge to have a voice for good - for the environment - feels stronger than ever. Unfortunately with so many important issues taking centre stage - racial inequality, women's rights, healthcare, nuclear war threats... nazis! - it's been hard to focus and to fight the temptation to simply tune out all the chaos.
One way I've been staying centred is with small choices everyday that will hopefully amount to something good. I made a step to using metal straws instead of plastic ones when I have to buy iced coffee or juice on the go. An estimated 500 million plastic straws are used in America... every day. Unimaginable, I know. By choosing a re-useable metal straw to keep in my handbag I'm certainly not solving all the world's issues but as insignificant as it may seem, it's one less piece of plastic making its way to a landfill.
The point is we have to start somewhere, and the important thing is starting.
